You said aaron wall twice
Nice linkbait (Sorry I couldnt resist, hehe). Seriously though, nice compiliation, will take a while to get through those
Don’t you think Aaron Wall has earned the right to be mentioned twice. 😉
Thanks for the heads up.
If anyone should be mentioned twice its Danny Sullivan, no problem

VERY NICE! I will spend some time going through these for sure.
Hi Lyndoman,
Great list of lots of useful links. Thanks for taking the time to compile and share it.
I wanted to offer up for your consideration a few recent posts on linkbuilding from the SEW blog:

Good list! I would’ve added this one:
http://www.smallbusinesssem.com/2007/01/22/ultimate-guide-to-building-the-perfect-link/
… but maybe that’s just me. 🙂
Kevin there are so many blogs and articles I had to leave out, however, SEW should get a mention and those are very interesting articles, which I have read.
In the interests of not making the list ridiculously long I have stopped where I have, although I made an exception for SEW.
What’s interesting is that some of the articles contradict other articles in the list. Rather than giving you a definitive how to, it should give anyone who reads them all a grounding in various link building philosophies.
I had to keep the list as contemporary as possible as workable techniques change quite quickly in the search industry and what would have worked in 2005 (bulk article syndication) may not be as effective now.
Aggresive, corporate, linkbuilding, the kind where you aquire links to point to specific items in shopping cart has not been my thing. In fact I have hardly ever emailed for links. This is because I used other techniques that were equally effective. After reading through the list it’s definately something I am going to start doing.
So expect an email soon 😉
Thanks, Lyndoman. I certainly understand that lists like these can go on forever if you don’t just decide to stop somewhere. I’m glad you were willing to make an exception for us.
I think you’ve hit on something with the contradictions in advice. It seems that because the search engine algorithms are always changing, and no one really knows everything that works or doesn’t work, it’s both frustrating and challenging at the same time. It’s frustrating for newcomers and non-specialists, but that frustration can lead to fascination for specialists who are up to the challenge.
I think that makes it doubly important to gather the accumulated wisdom together fro time to time, as you have here, to get a better idea of what’s accepted as true, what’s contested, and what new techniques are being suggested.
Thanks again,
Kevin
this is a great list of resources! Thanks for putting it together!
My site is just over a month old and I’ve had good success getting high rankings on Google. I don’t think I’m doing anything special but I am trying several of the techniques listed here that seem to be working. You can checkout my article “Google SEO Success”
Damn 🙂 Finally had a chance to go through this – great list!
I’m a bit behind on my reading so I just came across this post this morning. Thanks for the mention!
This stuff is great!! As a ‘newbie’ getting to know more about ideas and methods is really helpful and resources like this are a bit special. Much appreciated.
What a list! Wow!. It is really great. Really nice list, great writters, and a lot of resources to be in.
Thanks!!!!
