Like your style. A more systematic approach can often be used to trigger creativity.

Personally, I like (similar to your approach) to use some sort of “reverse psychology” marketing approach. I also go through a number of news items and see what I find interesting and analyze what made me feel interested.

I have found that trollish behavior yields lots of clicks. The more out there the claim the more people want to see it. You are correct about antagonizing the viewers.

When I worked in cardiothoracic research I was in Newark New Jersey’s public University hospital. Why? Because at that time we didn’t have an active oversea combat zone, and the absolute best place for chest and gut surgery training “opportunities” was Newark.

If you were into head trauma, you competed for an ER slot in Detroit, where baseball bats and golf clubs were the handy weapons for settling neighborly disagreements.

When I did my poison control internship it was on Long Island, where trainees gained unique experience in handling recreational abuses of expensive prescription narcotics, compared to the extensive PCP/crack remediation experience gained in the inner cities, or the meth disasters witnessed in the Pacific Northwest.

Sorry to go tangent, but your “Best Cities to get Shot In” started it. I think what you’re saying is perspective is important, and that people link to sensible perspectives they don’t have themselves… sort of a definition of the word “remarkable”.

Thanks for your insightfull article! Although here in the netherlands the financial aspect isnt the same, there are indeed some ways to get ppl link to you. Example is to provide tools with financial information.

seobro, I suggest you read a few articles about what linkbait actually is, it is not about attracting attention, it is about getting links. It’s not viewbait, it’s not eyeball bait it’s LINKbait.

I do not mention antagonising viewers, are you sure you are not commenting on a different post?
